Chapter 1: Arabella

"Can you help me, Danny?" Arabella asked in a little voice, her tongue poking out of her mouth as she tried to reach the clasp of her necklace. There was a little laugh from behind her then she felt her brother's gentle hands take the necklace from her. She sighed a little bit and lifted her hair.

"There you go, sweetie" Daniel said and he patted her back before walking over to his bed. He opened up the trunk and shuffled through it, grabbing a cardigan.

"Thank you" Arabella huffed, dropping her golden hair. She turned around to her bed and she quickly fixed the quilt. She took a deep breath then smiled over at Daniel. "Ready?"

"Honey, I am always ready for S'mores" Daniel laughed and he walked over to her, hooking his arm in hers. Together, they walked out of the Aphrodite cabin. As soon as they were outside, Arabella took a deep breath. It was nice to be out in the fresh air. She adored being in the Aphrodite cabin, but she couldn't stand all of the smells. Everyone had different perfume and hairspray and lotions. It was overwhelming.

All around them, people were walking out of their cabins and moving towards the campfire. Arabella pushed a piece of her hair behind her ear and smiled when she saw a group of people wave at her. She grinned and waved back.

"Oh...let's get a good seat. Close to the fire" Daniel said and he tugged Arabella over to the seats. He pulled her down beside her and she folded her arms across her chest, glancing around as more people started to file in. The campfire was always Arabella's favorite time of day. She loved being able to relax a little bit, talk to her friends and just enjoy the night.

"Arabella! Daniel!" A voice squealed and Arabella looked up to see one of her sister, Brooke, walking over to her. Putting a smile on her face, Arabella stood up to hug her. Brooke had a habit of making it seem like it had been months since they last saw each other, even though it had only been about 20 minutes.

"What's up?" Arabella asked, sitting back down and tugging on the hem of her jean shorts. In all honesty, she started to tune Brooke out. Brooke started gossiping like her life depended on it and Arabella could really care less. She put her elbows on her knees and she chin in her hands, looking into the fire. It was peaceful to be sitting there, lost in her own thoughts. After a few minutes, she felt someone nudge her side and she looked over to see Daniel, offering a s'more to her.

"Are you going to eat any of these? Your skinny little ass could use it" Daniel said, laughing a little bit. Arabella smiled and smacked his arm, taking the s'more from him.

"Whatever" Arabella muttered and she nibbled on the edge of the s'more, looking around to see who else was coming to the fire now. Her eyes landed on a guy with dark hair walking in, his hands shoved in his pockets. His vivid green shoes had caught Arabella's attention but soon enough, a guy from the Ares cabin walked towards her, blocking her view.

"How's it going, Bella?" He said to her in a smooth voice, standing in front of her and looking down at her with a smirk on his face. Arabella huffed, narrowing her eyes for a moment.

"I'm fine, Caleb." Arabella said, tossing the rest of her s'more into the fire. Suddenly, she wasn't so hungry anymore. "I told you not to call me that"

"What are your plans for later tonight?" Caleb asked her, leaning towards her and speaking in a low voice. He totally ignored what she had said to him.

"I thought that I would run naked through the camp and then bake a cake" Arabella said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "What do you think I'm doing tonight? I'm going to bed"

"Too bad. I was thinking that me and you could meet up on the beach tonight. Maybe do a bit of naked running there..." Caleb said, placing a hand on on her leg. Seeing him looking down at her like she was a piece of meat made Arabella feel horrid. She was sick of having guys walk up to her like that. They were looking for a night of sex and nothing more.

"I'm not interested" Arabella said in a short voice, glancing up at him as she pushed his hand off of her leg. Caleb let out a laugh, like he couldn't believe what he was hearing.

"Please, Bella, don't pull this 'innocent' crap" He laughed, leaning even closer to her. His face was only a few inches from hers. "Everyone knows about you and Dean, going down to the beach.." He got a smirk back on his face when Arabella's cheeks turned a vivd pink.

"Leave me alone, Caleb" Arabella said, putting all of her emotion and power into her words. Caleb's eyes went glassy for a moment and he looked at her with a blank look on his face. In just a few seconds, he stood up and walked away smoothly.

"You okay?" Daniel said softly, leaning into Arabella and touching her hand lightly. Arabella sighed and nodded, leaning against her brother and letting him put an arm around her.

"Yeah..I'm okay" Arabella told him in a low voice before she shoved a piece of chocolate in her mouth.
