Chapter 14: Arabella

Arabella didn't want to wake up that day. The previous night hit her like a train the moment she opened her eyes. She really wasn't feeling very good after the previous night. It was never a good idea for Arabella to stay up late when she had to get up early in the morning, so she wasn't feeling very good about that. Plus, she was still rather upset with Hunter about the whole Brooke thing. Speaking of Brooke, she was laying on her stomach on her bed and she was fast asleep.

With a little sigh, Arabella got dressed and she pulled her hair back in a loose braid. She walked over to Brooke's bed and nudged her foot. "Brooke. Get up" She said, getting nothing but a soft groan from Brooke. Arabella walked over to her own bed and quickly made it, cleaning up a little bit. She looked over at Brooke and saw that she was still sleeping. "Now, Brooke. You're going to miss breakfast" She huffed and walked over to her bedside again.

"No....no getting up" Brooke muttered into the pillow and Arabella sighed, pulling the blanket off of her.

"Up. Now" Arabella said and she dropped the blanket down on Brooke's trunk at the end of her bed. With a little sigh, she walked over to her own bed and sat down, tugging on her shoes. She looked over towards Brooke's bed after a moment and saw that Brooke was finally up and tugging on a pair of shorts.

"Last night was fun" Brooke said in a bubbly voice and Arabella raised an eyebrow at her.

"Do you remember what happened last night?"

"Well...not really" Brooke said thoughtfully. "But that's why I'm sure it was a blast" She giggled before making her bed and walking out of the cabin. Arabella let out a little sigh and she closed her eyes for a few minutes before getting up and walking out of the cabin. Breakfast would be good. Arabella was determined to make it good. Everyone from camp would be tired from the party so she wouldn't have to really deal with anyone.

However, the moment she started to walk down towards the mess hall, Arabella knew that something was off. Girls were looking at her as she walk past and giggling to each other. Boys were winking at her and giving her their best smolder. It was just...off. Usually, people would smile at her and say hello. Arabella couldn't go anywhere without people talking to her and she loved it. She didn't like this, though. Trying to avoid looking at anyone, Arabella got her food and sat down at the Aphrodite table. After a few moments, Daniel sat down across from her with a look on his face that screamed 'I have awesome gossip for you'.

"So...." Daniel started, smiling a little bit at her. Arabella sighed and she looked over at him with tired eyes. She didn't really have the patience for this.

"So....what? Please just tell me, Daniel"

"Somehow...word got out about what the party was for last night. Everyone in camp knows that you're looking for the guy that saved your life" Daniel said with a little nod and he leaned forward a bit.

"Please tell me that you're joking" Arabella breathed. The last thing that she wanted was the whole camp to figure it out. Daniel shook his head and she looked around, chewing on her bottom lip. "Do you know who leaked it? How did they find out?" She asked, thinking about Hunter and Jake.

"Some guy from Ares. Apparently, he heard you telling Hunter and Jake about it and he thought that it would be fun to spread it across the entire camp" Daniel explained to her and Arabella groaned, putting her head down.

'This is bad"

"No...this is good!" Daniel gasped, sitting up straight and put his hands face down on the table. "If more guys know about this, then that makes it more likely that you'll find the man of your dreams, right?"

"Whatever you say, Daniel" Arabella muttered, suddenly not very hungry. She finished off her copy and put all of her food into the fire. She walked back to the table and looked down at Daniel. "Come on. We're picking strawberries today" She told him softly and she turned away, walking towards the strawberry patches.

As Arabella walked, her eyes locked with Hunter's as he sat down at the Hermes table. She was already in such a bad mood and when she saw Brooke bounce over to him and kiss him, she wasn't exactly happy. Arabella glarred at him then huffed and walked towards the strawberries.

Picking strawberries was something that Arabella didnt usually liked but she was thankful for it in that moment. She could ignore everyone and just pick strawberries. While she picked the strawberries, she thought about the fact that everyone knew about the guy that saved her. Daniel was probably right, it was a good thing that people knew. But she hated the fact that the whole camp knew her private business. Arabella worked hard every single day to make sure that nobody really knew the real her. Nobody, except for Daniel, knew anything about her for sure. There was always a bit of a question about it and Arabella liked it that way. Having people know this secret about her made her feel anxious and afraid. It was easy for someone to hurt her know.

"Are you going to tell me why you gave Hunter a death glare today?" Daniel asked her, walking up beside her. Arabella glanced at him then let out a little sigh.

"When I checked on Brooke last night, she was in her bed and her dress was hanging up. It looked pretty obvious that Hunter had...done stuff with her last night" Arabella explained.

"Oh..."

"I guess I just...feel a little disappointed. I mean, I thought that he was better than that. I didn't think that he would take advantage of a girl like that" Arabella sighed and she shrugged a little bit, dropping a few strawberries into her bucket.

"Yeah. Hunter doesn't really seem like the type of guy that would do stuff like that" Daniel agreed.

"I thought that he was a decent guy but it turns out that he's just like Caleb and his band of idiots" Arabella muttered.

"Well, to play devil's advocate, what if Hunter didn't actually do it? what if it just looks that way for whatever reason. You know Brooke, she probably tried to jump his bones. Maybe he just...shut her down, made sure she was in her bed and left" Daniel said with a shrug and he laughed at the look on Arabella's face. "Maybe he just made a mistake. A stupid mistake but a mistake"

"It took everything I had not to slap him" Arabella told him and she raised an eyebrow at him. Daniel laughed and he gave her a little hug.

"Come on...cheer up. We have Ancient Greek next and then we'll have a fantastic lunch and I spotted a very cute boy from Apollo looking at you earlier" Daniel said, giving her a wink. Arabella scoffed, laughing a little bit and she nudged him with her elbow, going back to picking the strawberries.

"Whatever you say, Daniel"
