Arabella yawned a little bit and she stretched out, rolling up her shirt and placing it under her head to use as a pillow. It was quiet and peaceful and wonderful. Arabella liked having this little bit of alone time in the sun on the beach, even if she was worried about what Daniel was doing.
Daniel was walking back towards the cabin, the wheels in his head turning when he saw Brooke, Hunter and some guy that he didn't know walking away from the arena. After a quick moment, he ran over to them, giving Brooke a big smile. "What are you three up to?" He asked.
Hunter looked up in mild surprise when Danny walked up to them. He had Brooke on his arm, leaning on him a little.
"We were just going to the beach for a swim. Well, they were going to swim. I was going to work on my tan." Brooke said with a wink up at Hunter. Hunter blushed and looked up at Danny, nodding a little.
"You're welcome to join us, but it looks like you just came from the beach." Hunter said, noticing the sand on his bare feet. Danny put an amused look on his face.
"Sure! Sounds like fun." The four of them walked toward the beach and when they finally arrived, Hunter noticed Arabella laying nearby. He couldn't help, but look at her in her bikini a little bit. "Hey, sis! Look who's here." He said, poking her in the side with his toe.
"Hmm?" Arabella opened her eyes and squinted up at Daniel. She paused a moment before turning her eyes to look at Brooke, Hunter and then a guy that she had never met."Oh!" Arabella squeaked and she sat up, trying to look a bit more welcoming. "It's good to see you" She put a smile on her face when she looked at Brooke then she folded her legs, placing her hands in her lap.
"Adorable bikini, Arabella" Brooke told her and she let go of Hunter just for a moment to pull off her shorts and shirt so that she was in her bikini. "I need to get a tan so badly" She huffed and Arabella scoffed, rolling her eyes at Brooke's perfectly sun kissed skin.
"Are you one of Hunter's brothers?" Arabella asked, looking over at Jake.
Jake was busy chewing on his lip and ignoring the conversation when Hunter elbowed him in the side. "Oh! Yes, I am. Jake Koenigsdorf. At your service." He said with a small bow. Hunter looked at him oddly.
"Excuse Jake. He's a bit of an idiot." Hunter said with a laugh. "Well, don't mind us ladies. We'll be swimming." Hunter said with a nod before stepping out of his shoes. Jake waited until Hunter was off balance before shoving him into the sand.
"Excuse Hunter. He's kind of clumsy." He said before taking off his shoes and his shirt and throwing them into the sand at his feet. "Race you, clumsy." He said before taking off toward the water.
"You're on, idiot." Hunter said before taking off his shirt and his last shoe. He was about to sprint when he turned around to give Brooke a kiss. She was already tanning and in a complete other world. He sighed, feeling a little disappointed and then ran off toward the water.
Arabella laughed a softly at Hunter and Jake then turned to look at Brooke. She was laying down, not paying attention to anyone or anything. Arabella let out a little sigh and pulled her hair back so that it was out of her face. "Hunter seems like a really nice guy" She commented
"Hmm?" Brooke looked up at Arabella, narrowing her eyes. She was clearly lost in her own little world and didn't hear a word that Arabella said.
"Hunter. Your boyfriend. He seems like a really nice guy" Arabella said and Brooke smiled, closing her eyes again.
"Oh, yeah. He's great" Brooke sighed and Arabella looked over at Daniel, raising an eyebrow at him. He shrugged and Arabella let out a huff.
"Well...I'm getting pretty warm so I'm going to go for a swim" Arabella muttered and she stood up, tossing her sunglasses to the ground and running into the water to join the guys.
Hunter had Jake in a headlock and was holding him underwater. He looked up when he saw Arabella coming toward them. He just kind of watched, not realizing he was basically drowning Jake. He felt Jake pinch his leg and Hunter let go of him.
"You...son of...a...oh my gods..." He said between deep breaths. Hunter looked back at the shore and saw Brooke with her sunglasses on, rolling over to tan her back. He kind of wished that it was Brooke that was coming into the water. He would be distracted from how beautiful he thought Arabella was.
"Sorry. I was just uh..." He simply nodded over at Arabella who was wading into the water. Hunter let himself float in the water, keeping his shoulders and head above level. He was always sort of embarrassed about how much of a stick person he was and it was really obvious when he was swimming. "Decided to join us for a swim?" Hunter said as Arabella finally came within earshot.
"I'm surprised Danny isn't out here. I figured only girls really cared about their tans." Jake said, nodding toward the shore. "What is he gay or something?" Jake said with a laugh.
"Danny is very, very gay" Arabella giggled and she looked back at the shore. "I swear..he's more feminine than me" She added with a small roll of her eyes. She looked back at Jake and Hunter with a grin on her face. Arabella took a little breath then fell back into the water, sinking down so that the water was up to her neck. "So, do you have a girlfriend, Jake?" She asked him and giggled a little bit at the look on his face. Before he could say anything, she splashed him and Hunter and swam away as fast as she could, laughing her butt off.
"No...No girlfriend." Jake said with a nod as he ran a hand through his hair. "Why you want the job?" He said with a laugh before realizing what he said. His face went pale and his eyes widened. "Hey, Hunter. You know where you almost drowned me? Go ahead and finish that."
"Wow. This is just a shining moment for you, isn't it, Jake?" He slugged him in the arm and stepped toward Arabella. "You must excuse Jake." He said taking another couple steps. "He's being an even bigger idiot than usual." Hunter said before splashing Arabella with a huge torrent of water.
Arabella squealed and she started splashing him back, giggling the whole time. It felt good to be swimming with these guys. Most of the guys that Arabella spent time with would just hit on her the whole time. Hunter wasn't like that, since he was with Brooke and Jake's teasing felt so innocent. It was comfortable. She turned towards Jake and gave him a big grin. "He might be an idiot, but he's an adorable idiot" She said, trying to make him feel a bit better about the whole thing and get rid of some of the awkwardness.
"Nah." Hunter said with a shrug. "He's just an idiot." Hunter nodded just as he got a faceful of water. He splashed back and then stood up. He grabbed him and quickly fell backward, throwing him toward Arabella, creating a splash.
"Would you disagree with a lady?" Jake said, wiping the water from his face. "Now then. What about me being adorable?" He said, stepping closer to Arabella, a goofy smile on his face. Hunter rolled his eyes and got ready to splash them.
"I swear if you get my hair wet, I will find someone to kill you." Hunter turned around to see Danny and Brooke slowly wading into the water. She finally made it to Hunter and smiled, putting her arms around his neck. She leaned up and kissed him on the lips. "Hey, cutie." She said with a giggle.
Arabella looked over at Brooke, really tempted to splash her. She took a deep breath then turned away from Hunter and Brooke. She turned towards Jake and smiled at him"Maybe we'll talk about you being adorable later" She said and patted his arm. "Until then..." She said, her voice trailing off.
"Until then...?" Jake's voice was hesitant as he watched Arabella. She flashed him an innocent smile then splashed him with as much water as possible. With a squeal, she ran off and hid behind Daniel. Just as she was running away, Jake splashed her and ended up getting Daniel wet.
"Arabella! You did that on purpose!" Daniel huffed and he grabbed her around her waist, picked her up and tossed her into the water by Hunter and Brooke.
Brooke gasped as the splash from Arabella landing in the water hit her. "I cannot believe that someone would do that!" She shouted, pulling away from Hunter. "You guys are so immature sometimes."
"You mean, get wet. In water." Jake said, narrowing his eyes at her. She inhaled and then let it out in a huff before storming off. Hunter sighed and watched her go before turning to the other three.
"What should we do for the rest of the day?" Hunter asked quietly. He hated how petty Brooke was right there. He figured he would just let her cool off. She'd come around. Danny laughed a little.
"Well, we can figure that out, but Hunter, this is the time where you go after her and make sure she doesn't melt." Danny said with a laugh. Hunter sighed and turned around before taking off after Brooke.
Arabella watched as Hunter ran off and she let out a sigh. She hated seeing Brooke do stuff like that and she really hated seeing a good guy go after her. After everything that Caleb had said to her and then what Brooke said about her and now this, Brooke was not Arabella's favorite person. Daniel looked at her and narrowed his eyes, like he could read her thoughts. "Brooke can be a bitch. Don't pay any attention to her" He said and Arabella let out a sigh, glancing over to Jake.
"Yeah, I guess you're right" Arabella huffed and she folded her arms across her chest. "Her and Caleb would make a wonderful couple"
"Caleb is a jerk" Jake said.
"Exactly" Arabella and Daniel muttered together. Arabella looked over to the shore then turned her eyes back to Jake, who suddenly got a twinkle in his eyes that made her very nervous.
"I'm thinking that it's about time Caleb gets a taste of his own medicine" Jake said with a smirk on his face. "It's been too long since we've pranked someone from Ares"
Hunter caught up with Brooke and caught her arm. He let it slide between his fingers until he was holding her hand. She stopped, but didn't turn around immediately. When she did she kept her eyes on her hand in his. He pulled her in a little bit closer and she didn't resist. "Brooke, what's wrong?" Hunter said, stepping a little bit closer. He was slowly pulling her in and stepping closer. He was meeting her halfway. This was some second day.
"They splashed me and I told them not to. I just don't understand why we can't just be adults about stuff like this." Hunter pulled her into a hug. She seemed surprised by it. She kind of stood there before putting her arms around him and leaning into him.
"I think you look beautiful a little wet." Hunter said, placing a kiss on her head. He pulled away and looked her up and down. "Very beautiful." She giggled and then leaned up, kissing him tightly on the lips. Hunter smiled against her lips and then took her hand. "Let's go back and we'll find something else to do. Something without water okay?" She looked up at him strangely for a second and then finally nodded, turning back toward the water.
Arabella looked at Jake with a slightly stunned look on her face but she turned when she saw Hunter walking into the water. "Oh..look who's got the wicked witch of the east back here"
"Arabella. Take the claws back" Daniel said to her and he looked over at Jake with a furrowed brow. "So..you're going to pull a prank on Caleb? And just how are you going to pull that one off?" He said with a little laugh. Arabella tore her eyes away from Hunter and Brooke and she looked back at Jake, wondering exactly the same thing. It wouldn't really shock her if he managed to pull off a really great prank but she was nervous about it.
Hunter smiled when he heard the words prank and Caleb. "What are you thinking, Jake?" Hunter said, his father's mischievous glint in his eye.
"Well, I'm not sure if the ladies want to be dealing with pegasus manure, so that limits our options." Jake put a finger on his lips and tapped them. "Well, we could sand sack him." Hunter put on his thinking face for a second before Brooke nudged him to keep his thinking in his head.
"I don't know. That seems like he's getting off easy." Hunter looked around the group at the clueless faces. "A sand sack is where you fill someone's pillow with sand. It doesn't really look that different from a normal pillow and it's a MESS to clean all the sand out of your bed."
"That's a Stoll original." Jake said with a smile. "Well, we could clown shoe him."
"You put kool-aid in his shoes and so while he runs they get sweaty and it dies your feet red." Hunter nodded. "Why don't we do a fluff n' stuff with a clown shoe?"
"Tape him to his bed the dump marshmallow fluff on him? Dude, he will murder us." Jake said, in surprise.
"You must have a death wish" Daniel said, shaking his head is disbelief at Hunter. Arabella looked between Hunter and Jake with wide eyes and she nervously played with the sides of her bikini. The idea of getting back at Caleb was sounding really good to her, but that last one that Hunter suggested sounded like suicide.
"Are you sure that's a good idea? I mean...I really don't want you to get hurt or anything like that" Arabella sighed and she bit her bottom lip.
"That sounds gross" Brooke said, wrinkling her nose a little bit. "And Jake's right..he will murder you" She said with a little nod.
"Oh, come on. It'll be simple. I know he sleeps on a top bunk. He has no one below him. Danny and Arabella can sneak the kool-aid into his shoes before bed. Jake, you and I can talk to Stitch. I know he has some kool-aid and we can just sneak into the kitchen for some marshmallows. I've got duct tape. After he gets all that goo off he's going to chase after us and he's going to sweat in his shoes and then it'll be too dark for him to see, so it'll soak on his feet all night. It works perfectly." Hunter looked between the few of them. "It's not like Caleb doesn't deserve this."
"It's not a question of if he deserves it or not..it's a matter of us getting turned into paper when he catches us" Arabella said, looking up at Hunter with nervous eyes. She hoped that Hunter wasn't coming up with this plan to show that he was macho or whatever for Brooke. Caleb had embarrassed him in front of the whole camp and she was worried that Hunter was trying to think of something really crazy, just to one up Caleb.
"Well...it does sound like a pretty good plan" Daniel said slowly, folding his arms across his body and taking a deep breath. "And besides, we have Miss Charmspeak over here" He grinned, nudging Arabella with his hip, making Arabella smile and blush a little bit.
Hunter's eyes widened. "You can charmspeak!?" He said probably a little too loudly. "This changes things."
"What do you want me to do?!" Brooke said excited, hanging off of Hunter's arm. Hunter looked at her for a second. She couldn't charmspeak and she probably wouldn't want to get her hands dirty with the marshmallow.
"Well, uh..." Hunter said, trying to come up with something. "Oh! You can umm....You can...slip the kool-aid powder into his shoes. Make sure you spread it, so it doesn't make a pile in his shoe. Danny, you can distract him. Ellie-err...Arabella, I mean. You can tell everyone else in Ares cabin to sleep all the way through the night." He nodded, smiling big. "After that, you guys can go to bed and Jake and I will handle the rest."
"Oh, great." Jake said, rubbing his face. "The easy part. Just tie the grizzly bear to the bed and pour the hot marshmallows on him. Yeah. Makes sense."
"It sounds good to me" Arabella said with a little smile on her face, left over from when Hunter called her Ellie. No one had ever called her that before and she kind of liked it. Most of the nicknames that people gave her were terrible and she hated them. But she like Ellie. She looked over at Brooke, who was looking a little upset and she tried really hard not to smile even more.
"Come on, Jake..it'll be good. I'm sure that you and Hunter can move really fast. You'll be done before he even knows what's happening" Daniel said, grinning. He patted his arm then took a deep breath. "Well, I better go get ready. I need to get a good espionage outfit together!" He squeaked and he started walking out of the water, looking really excited.
"Yeah." Brooke said quietly. "We should get out, too. I'm getting pruny." Brooke said, sticking her tongue out and making a yuck noise. Hunter laughed a little and then glanced over at Jake and Arabella.
"See you guys, tonight, okay?" Jake nodded and it looked like Arabella was glaring at Brooke. "Alright. Let's get some lunch. How does that sound?" He said, offering her his arm. He finally looked and noticed that she was already almost out of the water. He watched her get out before following after her, trying to catch up.
"Now, it's just you and me here." Jake said with a nod over at Arabella. He goofily smiled over at her and raised an eyebrow. "Now, that's taken care of. You were saying something about me being adorable?"
Arabella laughed and she looked over at Jake with a smile. He seemed like he would be a good friend. "Well, I think it goes without saying that you are very adorable" Arabella teased and she splashed him before walking back towards the shore, giggling softly to herself.
